Wedded to those ideas,
To love and light and restraint,
All those things the devil-fears,
Can chip away like old paint.
Loved you almost instantly,
Guided by unseen forces,
Followed a mute symphony,
My heart dragged by wild horses.
Headlong into tragedy,
My heart left cold and jaded,
It was all just fantasy,
That one day we’d be wedded.
