In passing

Passing it seems fatefully,

To love and long and sever,

To please God most greatfully,

To touch your lips not ever.

Brush so close our destiny,

But choose only the mundane,

Love stretching through history,

What wonders it could contain.

Relinquish your attachments,

Hear Angel’s trumpets massing;

Heralding our contentment,

Or else resigned to passing.

Four ways to love

Stranger still a resonance,

A link that remained unseen,

Our hearts held fast tremulous,

A song to our souls serene.

Love that defies expression,

That is but one and many,

All things at our discretion,

Lover, friend to make merry.

In you I find confidence,

Share my heart without danger,

We float on God’s providence,

Put your hand in mine stranger.

Ancient love

Grateful, I am beholden,

Love through time and space echoed,

Through God I am emboldened,

To him I feel a debt-owed.

Please my love wouldst remember,

Our spirits were once married,

To this we must surrender,

My love, be you not worried.

I have come not roguishly,

To steal more than my plateful,

Your love and your progeny,

For that I am most grateful.

Our greater selves

Glory my love, reverence,

To kiss thine lips I adore,

To weigh lust with temperance,

To give life, divine succor.

Your eyes wide and bountiful,

Your heart the deepest wellspring

Your soul pure and fanciful,

Your lips a muted bee-sting.

For you I will champion,

A life of noble story,

With you, our days halcyon,

To live in timeless glory.

Following

Follow this path becoming,

Our right and truest persons,

This blessed love homecoming,

Before our longing worsens.

Sinking, fading, fastening,

Our spirits melding, fusing,

A future we’re fashioning,

Whence we were gladly losing.

Those lives freely sacrifice,

On the altar we hallow,

Stars, moon, we your acolyte,

Guide us and we shall follow.

With the potion

Sinking ever spiralling,

She’s afraid to lose control,

As our doubts are quieting,

Your love I wouldst not cajole.

Need for you is maddening,

I carry it now always,

Something greater channelling,

Lead to you, my heart ablaze.

Please don’t bare me scournfully,

Thou art the potion drinking,

Love I long for urgently,

Not lost nor drowning, sinking.

Carried his love away

Fading, clinging desperately,

To light that chases shadows,

To love that shines disparately,

Sinking into the shallows.

By your lips held captivate,

Your eyes light up my darkness,

A kiss that would culminate,

Devotion to your likeness.

When I hold you seamlessly;

In a strangers heart wading,

Lean against me weightlessly,

Into you, my love, fading.

Hearthen

Shelter me my beloved,

From the storm and from sorrow,

In your embrace behoved,

Never begged, stole or borrowed.

Romance the woods celebrate,

My love, my winter dryad,

A face pure and delicate,

Standing before me unclad.

Your hair long and beautiful,

Around our children felter,

A love true and bountiful,

In your bosom we’ll shelter.

Upon waking

Embrace me thus unflinching,

Our hearts and souls knit, wedded

Love, give yourself uninching

Divine tapestry threaded.

My love, I’m yours candidly

For you, I hold back nothing

Prostrate open handedly

In you, my heart I’m trusting.

You, I’ll follow resolute

To our souls holy birthplace

Earth nor sky no substitute

For your rapturous embrace.
